Homemade Vanilla Almond Milk

I love Almond milk! I know you can easily buy it from a store, but trust me it taste 100% better when you make it from scratch.  This is such a simple recipe and it will last about 3-4 days in fridge you can drink it on it’s own or use it in smoothies. This recipe will make about 50oz or so. I like to store it in a mason jar, and put a label with a date on it.

You will need- Raw almonds, dates, vanilla bean or vanilla extract, cinnamon, a nut milk bag ( you can purchase one from any health food store, or order it online) and you’ll also need a very strong blender like Vita Mix.

First, you will add 1 cup of almonds to bowl and fill with water until almonds are covered. You will leave them to soak over night, at least 8 hours.  Then drain almonds and put into blender, add 2 cups filtered water, 1 vanilla bean or a few drops of vanilla extract, and 2 dates (pitted) and a little cinnamon. Just a tip, you can always add more vanilla, dates, or cinnamon after you have blended everything together, just depends on how sweet you like it.  After you blend well, then grab your nut milk bag and a big clean empty bowl, your will pour the milk into the bag over the bowl and drain it through the bag. It’s like milking a cow 🙂  Pour into your jar and enjoy!Homemade Almond Milk

I love Fall, so I was inspired to make a delicious FALL SMOOTHIE 😉

Ingredients-  1 apple, 1 banana, 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed, 1 tablespoon of my homemade almond meal, 1/3 cup 0% Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup of my homemade almond milk, and about a teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Mix this altogether in a high speed blender I like to use a vita mix or health master. Enjoy 🙂

I love guacamole, and this recipe is so simple and delicious!

Ingredients-

3-4 hass avocados

2  tomatoes chopped

1/2 onion chopped

1/2 bunch of cilantro chopped

2 cloves of garlic chopped into fine pieces

juice of 1 lemon

a little salt and pepper to taste

1/4 cup of jalapenos from jar chopped. I really like the taste of them in the vinegar juice, I even add a tiny bit of the juice at the end!
